LEADING manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus UK has donated nearly £2,500 to the RSPCA. It is the first time MAN Truck & Bus UK has raised money for a chosen charity, with the pledge to choose a different charity every year in the future.

Employees at the company’s headquarters, in Swindon, were asked to put the name of their chosen charity into a hat with the RSPCA drawn out for 2016.

The money being donated is from fundraising at the annual MAN staff Christmas raffle and the MAN Dealer of the Year Conference.

Simon Elliott, managing cirector of MAN Truck & Bus UK, said: “When we decided to announce an annual company charity, we were delighted with how our members of staff reacted by showing great support for the initiative.

“Everyone got behind the fundraising and we are delighted to make this presentation to the RSPCA. It is a respected and hard-working charity that is close to many people’s hearts.”

Leanne Copp, corporate account manager for the RSPCA, said: “We are thrilled to be the chosen charity of MAN Truck & Bus UK for 2016.

“The amount raised will help us to keep rescuing and rehoming animals that are suffering from neglect and abuse.Without the support of the public and companies like them, we wouldn’t be able to carry out our vital work – we are hugely grateful for their kind donation.”
