DAF Trucks makes its return to the CV Show this year having recently announced impressive annual registrations figures for 2016. DAF Trucks’ overall 13,911 registrations – up almost 20% on 2015 – resulted in a record-breaking 30.1% market share for the company in 2016; its most dominant position in the over-six-tonnes GVW commercial vehicle market which the company has headed for the past 22 years.

DAF Trucks consolidates market dominance ahead of CV Show 2017

“This is a record-breaking performance,” said an understandably delighted DAF Trucks Managing Director, Ray Ashworth, “which has been achieved with a product range of the highest quality, reliability and productivity, supported by a dedicated dealer network. I want to thank all of our customers who have purchased DAF over the years, which has resulted in us retaining and further extending our leadership of the UK market,” he said.

DAF Trucks pays attention to operating costs at this year’s show, focusing on its ‘DAF Transport Efficiency’ philosophy – the company’s ongoing development of product enhancements such as Silent Mode and Predictive Cruise Control, supported by a comprehensive range of customer support services, namely, DAFaid, DAF MultiSupport R&M packages, DAF Parts and PACCAR Financial – all combining to provide operators with a total transport solution and all evident on DAF Trucks’ CV Show stand this year.

“Our impressive registrations result in 2016,” continued Ashworth, “is thanks in no small part to DAF Transport Efficiency. We have a product range that is arguably more reliable, more efficient and more productive than any other on the market, and, crucially, we provide an aftersales portfolio that sets DAF Trucks apart from the rest. Operators know that a truck is only as good as the back-up it receives,” he said, “and I know that DAF Transport Efficiency is at the heart of our success.”

DAF’s Euro-6 product range underpins the company’s position as market leader. From the LF range at 7.5 tonnes right through to the flagship XF Super Space Cab at 44 tonnes (and above), DAF has engineered a line-up with real driver appeal and a genuine ‘prestige’ presence on the road.

“For today’s operators,” said Ashworth, “we offer a serious transport solution – trucks of the highest quality, brimming with driver appeal and built to the highest quality standards. 2017’s DAF truck is a highly-prized asset for both the Transport Office and the driver.”

DAF Transport Efficiency, this year’s CV Show theme for DAF Trucks, will appeal to fleet operators large and small; it’s a philosophy that includes a comprehensive programme of technologies, services and support designed to increase productivity while reducing costs and environmental impact.

Drivers and driver trainers will see the latest DAF LF, CF and XF models, including the latest DAF Transport Efficiency features designed for optimum performance, comfort and efficiency. DAF Trucks’ own team of Driver Trainers will be on hand to offer advice on how drivers can get the very best out of their DAF vehicles.

Transport Managers will be able to learn how DAF Connect, the new on-line fleet management system, can help them manage fleet and driver performance, again, with productivity central to the new technology.

Fleet engineers and workshop managers will be able to talk to the DAF Service team to learn how DAF Fleet Services, DAF Check and DAF MultiSupport repair and maintenance can help manage costs and maintain compliance. The PACCAR Parts team will be on hand to discuss Genuine DAF and TRP Parts; available to suit not only DAF products, but other makes, trailers and a massive range of consumables for the workshop – and all now available via easy on-line ordering at the new DAF Webshop.

PACCAR Financial, DAF Trucks’ in-house finance provider, will also have representatives on the stand to help assist operators in selecting the best acquisition solution for their business.

Just outside Hall 5, and adjacent to the main DAF Trucks stand, an external display will include a selection of Euro-6 compliant, quality-approved, DAF First Choice used vehicles. First Choice trucks are less than five-years-old, have less than 500,000kms on the clock and come with an industry leading six-months, factory-backed First Choice Care warranty.

And for future transport industry professionals, DAF Trucks provides the industry’s foremost apprenticeship programme. Last year, DAF Trucks appeared in the top 100 list of apprenticeship employers in the UK – in any industry – and for the fifth time in six years. With 141 dealerships across the UK and Ireland all ‘buying in’ to the DAF Apprentice scheme, there are huge career opportunities for young people.

Throughout the duration of the show there will be presentations in the new DAF Showtrekker trailer on all the new and existing products, services and support.
